To all our Krinklewood Members and Friends,
Krinklewood’s vines are winter-bare and pruning has commenced. We prune for 2 weeks whilst the moon is in descending phase, then we pause whilst the moon ascends, returning to pruning 2 weeks later when the moon begins its second descent. For more see: Biodynamics.
It may be brisk and even a little rainy, but don't let that stop you, it’s an invigorating time of the year to visit us at Krinklewood !
BIODYNAMIC WORKSHOP
Our 5th Annual ‘Introduction to Biodynamics’ Workshop took place at Krinklewood in May, with a record 30 participants. This is an interactive, hands-on, 1-day workshop and we are always inspired by the energy and input from all. The 2012 Annual Biodynamic Workshop will be held Saturday 26 May, 2012.
If you are interested in attending an ADVANCED biodynamic Workshop – please email Carla@krinklewood.com to express interest.
2010 WILD RED
Our 2010 Wild Red has just been released, joining the 2010 Wild White. This 2010 Wild Red is rich cherry red in colour; it has a nose of dried spice with lifted notes of black plums with hint of mocca. Dried spices are layered over pristine flavours of blackcurrant, cherries and fine French oak. With or without food, Wild Red is an easy wine to open during the cooler months ! BUY WINE
AT THE VINEYARD
Our vineyard manager, Julian, is keeping busy with our animal friends - pigs, bees, sheep, cows - between pruning and during the ascending moon cycle. He is also establishing a substantial herb garden which will produce ingredients for our biodynamic tea preparations. There's never a dull moment at Krinklewood - for more regular vineyard updates, see us on facebook.
We hope to see you at the upcoming events listed below - it is always lovely to see you all.
best wishes,
Rod, Suzanne and Carla Windrim.
